The American Lawyer reports on Burford's FY 2021 earnings, where Burford published its commitment of $1.1 billion to new matters, up from $758 million in 2020.
“'To write more than $1 billion of new commitments during a pandemic is a significant achievement,'" CEO Christopher Bogart is quoted as saying. He continued, “'We deployed more capital than ever before from our balance sheet into assets with the potential to generate our highest returns and profits, auguring favorably for future capital provision income.'"
